The bridge connecting Jaycee Gardens Park to Rennie Park Peninsula will be closed to the public throughout the 2024 World Rowing Championships. Only individuals with valid World Rowing tickets will be permitted access to walk across the bridge. 

The City of St. Catharines is preparing to welcome the 2024 World Rowing Championships along the Henley Rowing Course from Aug. 18 to 25. The event will run daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and promises to bring an exciting atmosphere to our community. In light of this major event, public safety measures are being implemented, including the temporary closure of this key bridge to the general public.

Public Safety Notice

The bridge closure is a crucial measure to ensure the safety and security of all attendees. The City of St. Catharines urges residents and visitors to plan ahead by using alternative parking or taking public transit.

Parking and Shuttle Information

Show an event accreditation pass or a ticket to the event and ride on any Niagara Region Transit regular scheduled bus route to Rennie Park on Lakeport Road for free between Aug. 18 and 25.

A complimentary 30-minute shuttle service will also be provided from Aug. 18 to 25 by Niagara Region Transit in a continuous loop: Bill Burgoyne Arena to St. Francis School to Rennie Park to Craig Swayze Memorial Grandstand, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Service will be extended until 11 p.m. on Mega Worlds Fan Festival Nights from Aug. 21 to 24.

Complimentary parking will be available in the prime lot at Bill Burgoyne Arena at 129 Linwell Road in St. Catharines for the week. A secondary lot at St. Francis Catholic School at 541 Lake Street in St. Catharines will open after the prime lot is full.

Tickets are not required to access the parking and shuttles from Burgoyne Arena.
